Chinese New Year or Lunar New year is the most Important holidays in China. It is the time where family member and long distance relatives would visit and celebrate together. A reunion dinner is usually held on new years Eve which include various dishes. We at kiddles also celebrate Chinese New Year with various activities and bonding with our students.
3 Things related to Chinese New Year
- Lion Dance
Lion Dance usually is a type of traditional dance in Chinese Culture, in which it performs a movement which mimics a lion and it is touted to bring good fortune and luck. On the year 2019,
we specially hired Lion Dance to perform at Kiddles so our student can firsthand experience and relate to this Special Chinese Festival.
2. Lantern Festival
During Chinese new year, most of the rooms in the house is also decorated with red lantern. It also symbolize healthy and happines.
3. Hong Bao
Every Chinese New Year Celebration would not be complete without hongbao. Hongbao is a red envelopes which contains money inside. This is one of the most awaited moments for children, when they would respect
their family elder and relatives, with a greetings (Gong xi Gong xi) and they will get a Red envelope with money inside in return.
